Summary: Rote 0.2.2
Project: Rote
Continuing the headlong rush of development, Rote 0.2.2 is now available for download from RubyGems and RubyForge (see http://rote.rubyforge.org/). Rote is an increasingly powerful textual templating system that attempts to bring the power of Ruby to bear while remaining lightweight, easy to pick-up and completely predictable in use.
This release introduces two new major features, both contributed by Jonathan Paisley (thanks!):
* Much improved resource handling - Now if nothing is changed, nothing (at all) is done.
* New 'monitor' mode supports background rendering of your documentation as you make changes in your editor (Also very easy to extend, e.g. to refresh your browser automatically when changes occur).
Jonathan also brought many good ideas and suggestions to the table, which has resulted in a general clean-up of Rote's implementation and improvement in various aspects of it's operation.
If you're doing anything with text-based formats, be they HTML or otherwise, Rote could just be the tool that makes your day. Come on over and take a look: http://rote.rubyforge.org/
