Summary: RUBY-DICOM 0.8 Released
Project: DICOM

After five months of development, it is a great relief to announce that a new version has finally been released!

The major focus of this release has been a complete rewrite of the DICOM object's data element handling, which has resulted in a considerable increase in the speed at which the DICOM object can be manipulated. As of this release, even the largest and most complex DICOM files can be handled with great efficiency!

The network code has seen a number of compatibility improvements, as well as a few useful new features, like handling the transmission/reception of a series of files and the Echo request.

As of this release, the entire library has gained RDoc-style documentation, so be sure to read up on all the features when you install your new dicom gem!
