Version 0.4 of the of the Sedna XML database client library for Ruby has been released! This version adds an alternative style of specifying transactions, non-blocking behaviour for initiating new connections, a method to reset the current database connection, and some other small improvements. See the file CHANGES for details. Version 0.4 has been fully tested in Ruby 1.8.5 and above, including the latest release candidate of Ruby 1.9.1.

Sedna is an open-source, native XML database that provides a full range of core database services — persistent storage, ACID transactions, security, indices, hot backup. The client is a Ruby extension that uses the official C driver that is shipped as part of the Sedna distribution.

The Sedna XML database client for Ruby is currently in the beta stage. Please help the continuous development of the library by sending us comments, suggestions and/or patches.
